Getting to Bora Bora

Bora Bora is accessible by air through Tahiti, the main island of French Polynesia. Most international flights arrive at Faa’a International Airport (PPT) in Papeete, Tahiti. From there, you can take a domestic flight to Bora Bora’s Motu Mute Airport (BOB). Air Tahiti offers multiple daily flights, which take about 50 minutes.

Transfers:

Upon arrival at Bora Bora’s airport, you’ll need a boat transfer to your resort. Most luxury resorts offer private boat transfers, which can be arranged in advance. Alternatively, you can use public ferry services.

Where to Stay

Overwater Bungalows:

Bora Bora is famous for its overwater bungalows. These luxurious accommodations offer direct access to the lagoon, stunning views, and unmatched privacy. Top resorts with overwater bungalows include:

  • Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora
  • St. Regis Bora Bora Resort
  • InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa
  • Conrad Bora Bora Nui

We stayed at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui and we are so happy that we did! It was absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend it more. From the rooms, to the food, to the customer service, everything was impeccable.

The Conrad Bora Bora Nui enhances the overwater experience with personalized services, ensuring that every moment of your stay is infused with comfort and opulence. To commemorate our anniversary, we had a welcome bottle of wine and a personalized note from the hotel.

The canoe breakfast at Conrad Bora Bora Nui is a quintessentially romantic experience that adds a touch of magic to your stay. Imagine starting your day with a delicious breakfast delivered to your overwater bungalow by a traditionally dressed Polynesian paddling a wooden outrigger canoe. As the canoe glides gracefully across the crystal-clear lagoon, you’ll be treated to a feast of fresh tropical fruits, pastries, eggs, and other gourmet delights, all beautifully arranged and accompanied by fresh juices and coffee. This unique and intimate dining experience allows you to savor your meal while taking in the stunning views of the turquoise waters and the lush island landscape. The canoe breakfast embodies the spirit of Bora Bora, blending cultural charm with luxurious indulgence, making it an unforgettable highlight of your visit.

    Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Bora Bora is during the dry season, from May to October, when the weather is pleasant with less humidity and rainfall. This is also the peak tourist season, so book accommodations and activities well in advance. The wet season, from November to April, brings more rainfall but also fewer crowds and lower prices.
