7 Casual Elegant Outfits
#1) Printed Matching Set
You can’t go wrong with a matching set when it comes to dressing casually but looking chic and elegant. There are so many options out there now so finding a matching set to complement your personal style should be a breeze. In this look, Erin’s wearing a gorgeous blue printed Farm Rio blouse and matching shorts. This set is SO perfect for summer. The vibrant blue and fun print is so different and really does all the heavy lifting for this outfit. Both pieces are super lightweight, breathable cotton which is an inherently more casual fabric. But the fit and style bring that bit of elegance. Erin has worn the blouse with denim shorts and white jeans but you could wear it with dress pants, skirts, or any denim. See how she styled the shorts another way below. She completed the look with a pair of espadrille wedges, which would be perfect for dinner. But you could easily swap those for a pair of white sneakers to make it more casual for running errands, a coffee date, or lunch.
#2) Casual Top & Printed Shorts
Erin took the same blue printed Farm Rio shorts and styled them even more casually with a white tee by Nation LTD. This white tee has balloon sleeves, making it one of those basics-with-a-twist we’re always talking about. This elevated basic makes the look more casual, but it’s still very pulled together and stylish. Erin completed the look with some super cute espadrille loafers by Sam Edelman that are so chic and simple for the spring and summer months.
#3) Black Midi Dress
This is the perfect dress for when you’re running a million errands and just want to feel comfortable, but still want to look pulled together. This is a Sweaty Betty dress in an exercise material that’s super lightweight, breathable, and moisture-wicking. It has a racerback so you can wear a sports bra or tank underneath. And it’s VERY comfortable. Erin’s wearing it with a pair of sandals but you could also wear it with sneakers. This is definitely one of the more casual options on this list but it’s still very chic.
#4) Black Jumpsuit
A chic black jumpsuit is a great option for dressing casually but staying comfortable…and this Reiss jumpsuit is the epitome of casual elegance! You can wear it with heels or wedges for dinner or sneakers and flats for more casual outings. The wide-leg silhouette and the contrasting white trim make this jumpsuit incredibly flattering. It also has such beautiful movement. Plus, the fabric is super breathable and comfortable.

#5) Classic Sweater & Shorts
You can’t go wrong with a classic lightweight top and a pair of denim shorts. In this look, Erin’s wearing a super lightweight sweater by Quince that has a lovely, ribbed texture and is a really nice weight if you live in a climate where it can be a little chilly during the spring and summer months. She styled it with a pair of Moussy Vintage denim shorts she’s owned for years and loves to pull out during the summer and for travel. On her feet, she’s wearing a pair of beige Rag & bone platform sneakers but you could wear some stylish flats instead. This look is perfect for grabbing coffee, running errands, chauffeuring the kids around all summer, etc.
#6) White Button-Down Shirt & Denim Shorts
If you liked the last look but a sweater is a non-starter for you during the warmer months, try a lightweight, breathable white button-down shirt instead! This cotton button-down by Quince is super high-quality but affordable, has a soft fabric that’s wrinkle-resistant, and it’s so versatile. You can really dress it up or down! Erin chose to go the more casual route by styling it with the same Moussy Vintage denim shorts and a pair of metallic sandals. But you could dress it up by wearing it with jeans and heels or even a skirt and strappy sandals. The possibilities are endless with a wardrobe basic like this!
#7) Printed Dress
If you’re looking for a one-and-done, fuss-free piece you can throw on and feel equally elegant and comfortable…try a printed mini-dress! This blue and white printed mini dress by Farm Rio is a great option. It’s 100% cotton so it’s super light and airy. It has long sleeves with smocked cuffs, a keyhole self-tie neck with beaded ends, and an adjustable drawstring waist. You can throw on this dress for just about any occasion this summer…running around during the day, for vacation, as a coverup, or out to dinner with heels or sandals…it’s SO versatile!
