Why I love doing personal color analysis

Why I love doing personal color analysis

Color has the power to change how we look and feel. If you’re wearing colors that are in harmony with your coloring, you’ll look more vibrant, healthy, energized, and rested. The wrong colors (for you) can make you look tired, ill, drained, and even a little grouchy. I’ve seen it time and time again: when someone suddenly has one of their “best” colors near their face, it’s like a light has been switched on. I see it, they see it, and it’s like magic.

A couple of weeks ago, Manina from Red Leopard and I hosted a 3-day Color Event in Los Angeles. We met and did color analysis for several people each day, and it was such a blast!

Three colorful days…

The event was held at Jonathan Novak Contemporary Art Gallery in Century City. This bright and color-filled space was the perfect venue!

I had my color analysis with Red Leopard in 2019, and it was (literally) life-changing. I knew all of the black I’d been wearing was doing me no favors, but couldn’t seem to break out of the rut. Almost every time I tried to wear color, it just felt wrong. Learning my best colors, (I’m a Golden Spring, in the warmest end of the Spring palette) and beginning to incorporate them into my wardrobe gave me such a lift.

I knew I wanted to learn color analysis to be able to share not only with clients, but with you, on the blog. I had scheduled to attend a training seminar with Red Leopard…in April of 2020. But then the pandemic hit, and it was a full two years before I could finally attend and complete the course in London in early 2022. It was an intense two weeks and my head was spinning every night, but I’m so glad I did it. Here’s why….

It’s just so much fun to see how people light up when surrounded by their best colors!

Professional makeup artist Brian Haugen (By Brian) was on hand to do makeup in each person’s seasonal color palette, which made the event even more special for our clients.

It was a lively 3 days, both exhilarating and exhausting. We had SUCH fun, we’ve decided to try to make this an annual event! But if you can’t wait a whole year, and live near or will be visiting the Los Angeles area, I have appointments for in-person Color Analysis available beginning in June. Just email me: [email protected] and I’ll send you a link to my calendar.

Here’s a quick recap that I posted afterwards on Instagram:

Working with and wearing color can be so uplifting and energizing. But one of the best things about building a wardrobe within your seasonal color palette is that everything works together. So you can do more with less, and build a beautiful and functional wardrobe over time. I truly believe it’s a worthwhile investment in yourself.

Have you had a personal color analysis? How did you feel about the results?
