Want to Try Warm Accents with Black? Start with a Scarf – The Juan Delcan Scarf by Echo

May 27, 2024

While some of us are loyal to the color palettes given to us – sometimes years ago – by color consultants, some of us are out there experimenting…

This scarf inspires experimentation:

At first, I thought I would tackle something with the light blue background – faded denim and chambray would both be ideal.

But then I really focused on the juxtaposition of black with the warm gold, green and orange creatures on this most whimsical of scarves:

Our heroine, who has a fondness for lacy and textured cardigans, is off and running!

Her wardrobe has many of the same classic black garments as that of her friend from Friday’s post, but things look very different with these colors!

Even though the cardigans are similar, the range of colors makes things look much different!

Yes, she already has a green cardigan, but this one is more textured, rather than lacy, and quite a few shades darker too:

If this heroine was planning a trip, this would be her travel wardrobe – I think this looks so appealing:

The ways in which these garments can be worn are pretty easy to picture, but let’s look, just to be sure that we’re not missing anything important.

it can happen – I once traveled with ONE pair of socks…

Why not mix accent colors? It’s not right for every day, or for every activity, but sometimes it’s a fun option:

Between Friday’s post and today’s, it’s clear that a good core of neutral clothes can take on really different looks depending on your choice of accent colors. It’s obvious, but easily forgotten…

do you get the clear message that I’m forgetting LOTS of things these days?

love,

Janice

p.s. Ten years ago, I shared with you “The Lost Art of Dressing” by Linda Przybyszewski – a look into why nobody knows anything about quality clothing these days. It’s on my “re-read” list…
