Is ‘Baby Reindeer’ Season 2 Happening? Here’s Everything We Know

If you’re anything like us, you probably haven’t been able to stop thinking about Baby Reindeer since bingeing it all in one weekend. (If you haven’t already seen it, it’s definitely worth cancelling your plans over.)

Over seven 30 to 40-minute episodes, we are introduced to amateur comedian Donny, who works at a pub in Camden where he serves a woman called Martha. His small act of generosity sees Martha take a shine to him, calling him “Baby Reindeer,” and proceeding to stalk him and his family for the better part of two years.

The show is based on creator Richard Gadd’s real-life experience, but it’s not just a classic stalker-victim show. Instead, it explores the intricacies of why the stalking occurs, particularly through a mental health lens (again, if you haven’t already watched it, we implore you to).

Since it dropped, it’s been continuously discussed on social media and it’s gained a legion of fans. Even veteran horror author Stephen King chimed in on the discourse, writing only, “Baby Reindeer: Holy s***” as his two-word review.

Now, though, the question at the end of everyone’s Tweets (X’s? IDK) is whether we can expect Baby Reindeer season 2 to be dropping any time soon. Here’s what we know.

Will there be a Baby Reindeer season 2?

Netflix already gave a big clue as to whether there would be a second season of Baby Reindeer when the first season dropped: The streaming giant listed it as a “limited series,” which means that it will be contained to one season.

So, no, there won’t be a second season of Baby Reindeer. *Sobs* In all fairness, Richard Gadd (very honestly) put all of the story that there was to tell on screen for us already and tied up all of the loose ends along the way.

However, the good news is that Gadd will soon be gracing our screens once again as the star of his new project. He is currently working on a new drama for BBC called Lions, which he will write and star in.

What is Richard Gadd’s new show Lions about?

GQ reports that Lions will focus on the themes of modern masculinity and shame. Set in Glasgow, it will see two estranged friends who are thrown back together following a chaotic wedding.

“When Niall’s estranged ‘brother’ Ruben shows up at his wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives,” a plot summary reads.

“Spanning almost forty years from the 1980s to the present day, this ambitious series will cover the highs and lows of the brothers’ relationship, from them meeting as teenagers to their falling out as adults – with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry, and challenging moments along the way. It will capture the wild energy of a changing city—a changing world, even—and try to get to the bottom of the difficult question… What does it mean to be a man?”
