Colorful sweaters for your winter wardrobe

In the midst of winter’s chill, why not infuse your wardrobe with a burst of freshness and color? Today I’m sharing some vibrant picks to brighten your look (and outlook). Here are some colorful sweaters and more that you can wear now and into Spring.

After last week’s “appetizer,” we’re now being served the main course of the Atmospheric River Special. (Fortunately I was able to get my sump pump repaired before the storm hit, so my backyard hopefully won’t flood.) When it’s cold, wet, and dreary out, I find I need the lift that wearing color provides. With the weather as it is now, that usually means a sweater.

Colorful sweaters to brighten your winter outfits

Winters, Eileen Fisher has really done right by you with the colors “Rhapsody” (corresponds to Fuchsia in your palette) and “Tulip” (bright Raspberry). This cashmere v-neck is available in both colors, sizes XXS-3X.

Autumns, this “River” color looks like a softer version of your Peacock blue. Sizes XXS-3X. (Also take a look at this one in “Flame.”)

On my monitor, this cashmere tee looks like Spring’s “Flamingo Pink.” (I have it on order, will update once it’s in my hands.) I think this could be a good travel piece. Wear it layered over another sweater, under a jacket, or on its own.

Here’s a budget-friendly cashmere tee that’s available in a bunch of colors. This emerald green is a good one for you Winters! Sizes XS-XL. Also:

  • Winters: Sapphire, Burgundy, Raspberry
  • Summers: Raspberry, Wisteria, Light Blue
  • Autumns: Camel, Spicy Mustard

I think J.Crew always has some of the best sweater colors that you won’t see elsewhere. Autumns, this is your “Pistachio.” Sizes XX-Small to 3X. (This sweater runs small, suggest sizing up.) Winters, check out “Magenta Grape” and “Neon Flamingo” colors. Summers, “Muted Orchid” and “Heather River” are good. Springs, the “Heather Peony” is your warm pink.

This is the longer classic fit cashmere crewneck, and this Utility Green is another great Autumn color. (Springs, check out “Neptune Green.” Summers: “Heather Neon Orchid.” And “Berry Red” looks like Winter’s Scarlet to me.) Sizes XX-Small to 3X.

Summers, here’s a pretty lilac shade for you. This ribbed cotton polo cardigan is available in sizes XX-Small to X-Large.

I love the Breton stripes on this cotton zip cardigan. This looks like a good Spring combo; Winters, check out the cobalt blue with green stripes.

One of Sézane’s most popular styles, this Gaspard cardigan can be worn with buttons in front or back. Lots of colors available in this style; Winters, here’s your Royal Blue. Sizes XXS-XXXL.
