Best Tankini Swimsuits for Women Over 60

Best Tankini Swimsuits for Women Over 60

Swim season is officially upon us, and I’m getting a lot of questions from AWSL readers about swimsuit recommendations for women over 60 that are not one-pieces. Two-piece suits can be easier to wear for long days at the pool or beach because you’re not struggling with so much wet fabric when nature calls. Plus, I love how you can mix and match them with different bottoms like swim skirts, shorts, or whatever bottoms suit your style and desired level of coverage. Here are a few of the best tankini swimsuits for women over 60 that caught my eye, as well as a few favorites from my swim drawer at home.

This YONIQUE TANKINI from Amazon is super affordable and can be delivered to you in hurry, if you need a swimsuit for an upcoming vacation or pool day! This set includes a top and bottom, which is nice because you often have to buy them as separates on other websites. It comes in a ton of colors, but I opted for the navy blue tie dye.

THIS TANKINI FROM TOMMY BAHAMA (slightly different print this year)

This tankini from Tommy Bahama is quite modest, with underwire molded cups and UPF 50+ sun protection. The top is long enough to cover the top of the bikini bottom, and the matching print makes it appear like a one piece. I took this with me a few summers ago when I visited Miami, and now this style is available in two similar tropical floral prints.

Miraclesuit Sanibel Tankini

If you’re looking for a tankini top that will smooth and sculpt, look for Miraclesuit swimwear. They’re sold in multiple places like Nordstrom and Amazon, and they also have an exclusive collab with Talbot’s. Talbot’s has several different bottoms that you can pair with this top, but I love the look of it with this matching vented skirt.

Lands’ End Bandeau Tankini

Last year, I polled the AWSL audience on their favorite place to buy their swimsuits, and the resounding answer was Land’s End. They have more tankini options than you can even imagine! This navy and white striped bandeau caught my eye because it’s made with chlorine-resistant, UPF 50 fabric, and has removable, adjustable straps.

San Sebastian Embroidered Tankini Top

I discovered Cabana Life when I was shopping for sun-protective clothing. They’re a resort brand, so they carry a lot of bright, colorful patterns and prints that you might pack for a beach trip. There are also lots of options with simpler prints like this quick-drying tankini top.

La Blanca Seas Print Tankini Top

La Blanca makes quality swimsuits and brings back many of the same styles year after year. I picked up my second La Blanca one-piece earlier this year, and will likely continue purchasing from this brand. This gorgeous tankini has a fun pop of color and is available in sizes 4-16. If you prefer solids, I also liked this one-shoulder La Blanca top that comes in black, light blue, and red.

Miraclesuit Allura Rock Solid Crisscross Tankini

Speaking of solids, this black swimsuit top from Miraclesuit drapes perfectly to camouflage any tummy insecurities. Plus, the beauty of a tankini means you can mix and match it with various bottoms, like these black swim shorts that will give you plenty of coverage as you collect shells, climb out of the pool, etc.

Talbot’s Twist Front Tankini

This tropical swim set would look cute under an unbuttoned white shirt with a sun hat and straw tote for a day on a friend’s boat or lunch by the pool. It has an underwire for those of you who need a little extra support in your swim-top.

Tommy Bahama Playa Brava High-Neck Tankini Top

Last but not least, I wanted to share a higher-neck option. This kind of neckline is great for those of you who prefer a more modest look, as well as for providing extra sun protection on the delicate skin on your chest. I love the addition of the tortoiseshell buckle, and I’d style it with a pair of tortoise sunglasses.
